Utah Arts Fest

We made a quick trip to the Utah Arts Festival over the weekend. It was hot and I'm too pregnant to do too much, but we figured it was good to get out of the house for a few hours.

We parked a few blocks away downtown and jumped on Trax for the first time. Finn loved his first train ride.
We walked around, people watched, looked at art and let Finn play in the sand and water. It was a great time as always. Thanks for the tickets Teri.

Flour Fun

Finn loves "helping" in the kitchen. Usually helping means digging in the flour and sugar. Even better when I'm rolling out dough, so there is flour everywhere.

Tractor Heaven.

Happy Birthday Finn!

On Saturday we had a little party for Finn's third birthday.

We had to open presents first because Finn could NOT wait. Lots of tractors and dump trucks.

We went to my parents pool with some of Ben's family and Teri and Chace. We took a million pictures with our waterproof camera, just cause it's fun.

Then we headed back to the house to have a tractor birthday cake. Finn was too distracted by the tractors to really even eat any cake.

Happy Birthday cute boy!

Finn is Three!

I can't believe I have a 3 year old. Crazy.

Finn is such a perfect little boy. Here are a few things about our 3 year old:
  • Polite. Always says "bless you", "excuse me", "thank you" and "your welcome"
  • Clean. Well kind of. Never gets into things he isn't supposed to
  • Gives lots of good hugs and kisses
  • On the verge of being potty trained. This is a tough one. He hasn't been interested at all, but this past weekend he did awesome
  • Speaks well. I swear he speaks better than most 5 year old's I know.
  • Ready to be a big brother. He loves babies and he is such a good helper, so lets hope he is ready!
  • Obsessed with tractors, digging, dump trucks, sand and dirt
  • Loves the water. A little too much, he even jumped in without his floaties this weekend and it didn't even faze him
  • Hates waking up during the week and has to be cuddled for a few minutes. Don't we all?
  • He sounds perfect, but he is naughty too. Dinner is rough sometimes, he'll only want to eat cereal or "treats". So we have a few breakdowns.
  • Amazing brain. Remembers tiny details about people. Loves puzzles and can do them so fast. Faster than me.
We love you Finn!

Remember me?

I have a million pictures to put up. I might jump all over the place, but I'm going to be doing some serious blog updating. Stay Tuned...

Adam and Kristins Wedding

May 15th was Adam and Kristin's wedding in Escalante, UT. One of my most favorite places in the world. Beautiful, perfect weather and beautiful surroundings, make for the most beautiful wedding.

Waiting for the bride.
So happy.
Sunburned and pregnant me.

A few of the guests.
This is where Finn spent 95% of his time. This place is any boy's dream.

Trying to get a picture of all three of us looking at the camera. Did not happen.

Heading home. A crazy beautiful drive.

Digging in the Dirt

To feed Finn's obsession, we made him a digging dirt pit this weekend. We have a sandbox, but that just isn't enough. He needs a place he can really dig with big shovels and hand shovels.

Now we need to invest in a really good dump truck for him.

The Way You Make Me Feel

The conversation on the way to school

Finn: What song is this?
Mom: Michael Jackson (explaining more is way too complicated)
Finn: Huh?
Mom: Michael Jackson
Finn: Oh.
Mom: Do you like it?
Finn: Yup

Too bad he wasn't in the car when Prince's Raspberry Beret came on 10 minutes later. He would have loved that one.

Tractors

Finn is obsessed with tractors and digging. He would spend all day in the dirt if we would let him. Then when we are in the car, he is on the lookout for any dump trucks or tractors.

Saturday was the perfect yard day, so we were out and so were the neighbors. The temptation was just too much for Finn and Griffin with all the beautiful black dirt.

The Toy Drawer

Sunday we went over to Mark, Teri and Chaces house for a little "family dinner" BBQ and to play at the park.

Finn loves Mark and Teri's house, and I think one of the main reasons (besides Mark) is the drawer full of toys. It has been there for years, even before the thought of having kids entered the Gibson's minds.

And it's always full of surprises....

Our Little Helper

Finn is obsessed with shovels, tractors, dirt and anything digging.

I got an early birthday present about a week ago and we needed to plant it. The minute Ben stepped away from the hole, Finn jumped in and took full advantage to help.

Finn Speaks Spanish

Yes, Finn can speak Spanish. He can say Daybreak, in Spanish, and a few other things. I'm not sure where he learned this, I'm thinking from watching too much of The Good Night Show

Every night when you drive by the Daybreak entrance. He says, "It says Daybreak, in Spanish." Funniest thing ever.

He was talking about his cousin Cohen the other day, and he said, "it's Cohen, in Spanish."

Yes, I know my son is a genius.
