This past week has been huge for Ridley. A few days ago he started laughing, not just a little sigh laugh, but really laughing. And he is VERY ticklish.
Then while doing some tummy time, which he hates, (don't all babies?) he rolled over! Several times. Once he did it once, it was so simple for him and he did it over and over again. We did get it on video, but we can't figure out how to get the video off Ben's iPhone, so it might not appear up here for awhile.
Yeah for milestones!

Ridley's Three Months
Here is our smiley three month old!

The last three months have flown by. Ridley is the cutest three month old. So smiley and happy. Most of the time. He still gives an hour or so a day of crying for no reason. But after being cuddled and loved he usually calms down.
He still hates baths. Finn loved the water and baths by this age. Ridley starts screaming before he even touches the water.
Ridley is getting so squishy and chubby. Best rolls on his legs, arms and neck. He is just so kissable.
Basically he just sits there and smiles most of the time. He can't do much else. We are trying to get him to roll over, but he hates tummy time so much and just cries and screams.

Happy Birthday Finn!
On Saturday we had a little party for Finn's third birthday.
We had to open presents first because Finn could NOT wait. Lots of tractors and dump trucks.

We went to my parents pool with some of Ben's family and Teri and Chace. We took a million pictures with our waterproof camera, just cause it's fun.

Then we headed back to the house to have a tractor birthday cake. Finn was too distracted by the tractors to really even eat any cake.

Happy Birthday cute boy!

Finn is Three!
I can't believe I have a 3 year old. Crazy.
Finn is such a perfect little boy. Here are a few things about our 3 year old:
Finn is such a perfect little boy. Here are a few things about our 3 year old:
- Polite. Always says "bless you", "excuse me", "thank you" and "your welcome"
- Clean. Well kind of. Never gets into things he isn't supposed to
- Gives lots of good hugs and kisses
- On the verge of being potty trained. This is a tough one. He hasn't been interested at all, but this past weekend he did awesome
- Speaks well. I swear he speaks better than most 5 year old's I know.
- Ready to be a big brother. He loves babies and he is such a good helper, so lets hope he is ready!
- Obsessed with tractors, digging, dump trucks, sand and dirt
- Loves the water. A little too much, he even jumped in without his floaties this weekend and it didn't even faze him
- Hates waking up during the week and has to be cuddled for a few minutes. Don't we all?
- He sounds perfect, but he is naughty too. Dinner is rough sometimes, he'll only want to eat cereal or "treats". So we have a few breakdowns.
- Amazing brain. Remembers tiny details about people. Loves puzzles and can do them so fast. Faster than me.

Big Boy Post - Pee in the potty!!
I know we are still very far from having Finn be potty trained. But yesterday was a huge milestone. He peed in the potty at school.
He still hasn't done it at home, even though we've tried, I think we need to get a tiny toilet for him. If you read this, let me know what worked for you. I think I want to get the attachment with the smaller seat to go on the big seat.

Finn Says - "Knock Knock"
Finn must have learned Knock Knock jokes at school. Here is how is goes:
"Knock Knock...... Funny" And then he breaks into laughter.
I love Finn's sense of humor.

Finn Says - "Mommy Go!"
When we are driving in the car, pretty much every time I stop at a stoplight, Finn yells "mommy go!"
Cracks me up every time.
I try to explain to him about the red light and green light, but he hasn't quite figured it out yet.

Happy Birthday Finn!
Finn turned 2 today. Crazy how fast these two years have been.
The past year has been an exciting one. He has learned to walk, RUN, talk, play, eat with a spoon, climb and talk.
We had his 2 year checkup and he weighs 31 pounds, 80th percentile and is 36 inches tall, 90th percentile.
We have hit some terrible two moments. He does like to have everything his way, and he shows his little temper quite often. But he also shows his loving side with kisses and the best hugs.
Here is a video we took of him on this big day.

Monsters and Aliens
Over the weekend we did lots of yard and house work. We did manage to take a break and take Finn to his first real movie. Monsters and Aliens. He has been to movies in the past, but when he was a baby and sleeping through them.
This time around, he got his own seat in between me and Ben, had his sippy cup full of juice and piles of popcorn in his lap.
For the first 45 minutes he was in awe of the huge screen and the popcorn. I honestly don't think he's had much popcorn before, but he loved it. He was totally silent and unaware of his surroundings, except for the movie.
Then, the Monsters broke a fence. And Finn yelled "OH NO!!" then for the next 30 minutes he was totally into it yelling at the "caughters" helicopters and everything else that was exciting.
About 15 minutes before the movie was over, he was done, and asked me "go?". But he was quickly distracted once I gave him more popcorn and he finished out the last 15 minutes like a pro.
He was so cute watching this movie, several times I wanted to take a picture so I could capture the moment. At one point, sitting in between us, he had one hand on my shoulder and one hand on Ben's shoulder, just staring ahead at the movie.

Word of the Day - Noe / Noeing
Noe
–noun
1. A precipitation in the form of ice crystals, mainly of intricately branched, hexagonal form and often agglomerated into snowflakes, formed directly from the freezing of the water vapor in the air. Otherwise known as snow.
This morning when we went to get into the car, Finn yelled excitingly "NOE!!!"
I'm very sad that Finn still uses this word on April 16th.
All the flowers were bent over dead this morning a few inches of snow covering them.
I'm over it. And hopefully he'll never have to say noe again, at least for several months.

Word of the Day - Bitty
Bitty
–noun
1. a rubber or plastic device, often shaped into a nipple, for a baby to suck or bite on. Otherwise known as a Binkie.
This is one word we often have to spell out. Finn has a great love for his Bitty. We try to only give it to him when we really need him to be good, or at bedtime. He is fine without it, but as soon as he hears the word bitty or see's one. He HAS to have it.

Big Boy Post - Finn is 18 months old!
Just after Christmas, Finn turned 18 months. I cannot believe how quick time goes by. I know everyone says that, but I seriously just felt like I was pregnant a few months ago.
Finn is so cute. He talks so much. We don't know what he is saying 75% of the time, but he babbles on and on. Especially in the car. Such an easy kid, will go anywhere with us and be good. Except last night at Home Depot, when we were chasing him down the aisles.
He loves Oscar to death. Sometimes all the loves are a little much for Oscar and he has to run away. Finn actually loves all animals. He loves the kitties at Teri's house. Loves horses and chickens "bock bock".
Finn has the funniest sense of humor, we are always laughing at him / with him. Loves his daddy and playing rough. He is ALL BOY.
Weight - 28 lbs - 85th percentile
Height - 33.5 inches - 95th percentile
Trying on hats at Target.

Big Boy Post - Eating with a fork... sort of.
Finn will not let us feed him anymore. Which makes mealtime a lot messier and a lot longer. He is getting much better with the fork. Sometimes he still gets frustrated and uses his hands, but he usually at least keeps the forks in hand while doing it.
Sorry for the millions of pictures, but it's kinda fun to see his whole eating process.

Big Boy Post - Finn is 15 months old!
Monday afternoon Finn had his 15 month check up. As usual, he was perfect, and as usual, he was big.
Weight: 28 lbs - 90th percentile
Height: 32 inches - 85th percentile
Head Circumference: 19.25 inches - 95th percentile
Finn is getting so much fun. More and more every day.
He loves dogs and cats, really loves cats, I think because he is less familiar with them.
Is a pro at walking.
Talks a lot, but mostly things we can't understand.
Loves food, he is very healthy with his some of his favorites being soy beans and hummus. But he is also a big meat eater. He loves him some steak.
Gives great kisses, and starting to give closed mouth kisses!
Loves opening and closing doors.
Loves watching daddy skateboard.
Very observant, he is always pointing at everything, totally amazed at the world around him.
Loves other kids. If the neighbor boys are out playing he bangs on the window and wants to go play.
Loves walks, bike rides and being outside.
Loves slides and swings.
Has a great sense of humor. Finn is always cracking himself and us up.

Word of the Day - Boe
Finn is starting to say certain words. Some sound right and some just don't. I thought I'd try to keep track of some his first words.
I do have a little catching up to do, and I have a feeling this will probably only last a few more weeks before there are too many words to keep track of.
Word of the day:
Boe
–noun
1. an external covering for the human foot, usually of leather and consisting of a more or less stiff or heavy sole and a lighter upper part ending a short distance above, at, or below the ankle. Otherwise known as shoe.
