The Doctor's Office

Finn went to the doctor today because of a fever. We thought he might have an ear or sinus infection, but he didn't. Doctor said it is probably just his teeth. Since I didn't get to go today, Ben took a picture to keep me in the loop.

Anyways, Finn loves the doctor's office. They have the best toys.

We will be back there on Monday for his 15 month check up. 15 MONTHS!!!

Nebulizer Part 2

After a week and a half, Finn has gotten used to the sick baby routine. Last night he even did the Nebulizer by himself!

He was very proud of himself.

Sick Baby, Happy Baby

Finn is feeling much better. Still not 100% which in some ways is a good thing.

Finn isn't the biggest cuddler. Usually there are too many things to look at to cuddle. Over the past two weeks, he is always wanting to be held and rocked and loved. Although sometimes annoying, because I can't get anything done, and I don't do too well at 2am, I am still loving it. I know my cuddling days are numbered.

After I fed him tonight before bed, he just sat in my arms loving me.

Nebulized

Finn's least favorite part of the day is when we have to do the Nebulizer. The fact that we are holding him down and his hands down for 15 minutes just kills him. After we do it, it makes a big difference in his breathing. At least for a while.

Look at his sad face.

The story of our lives

We have been so spoiled with Finn. He is the best little sleeper. If it's time to take a nap, we just lay him down and he goes to sleep. If it's time to go to bed, we just lay him down and he goes to sleep. As my mom says, "Magic!"

Not when he is sick. He only wants to be held. He is so tired and worked up that it is impossible for him to go to sleep. Ben has been trying to get him to sleep since I left this morning.

I just received the following text:

"Finally Asleep"

Ben is stuck in that position for who knows how long. Good daddy!

RSV

Poor Finn. Wednesday I decided to leave work early and track down Dr. Lei at a different client to find out what was wrong with my sweet baby. He was worse than the day before when the stupid Nurse Practitionor said "it's just a cough, it will go away".

Finn had lost 3 ounces since Tuesday and had a tempurature of 99.7. Finally the Pediatriction came and and looked in his ears.... double ear infection. Then listened to his chest (you don't even need to put your ear to it, you can hear him breathing from a foot away its so bad).

"I'm 99% sure he has RSV, I've seen 50 babies this week with it."

Great, I asked, "So did he have it yesterday when the other "doctor" saw him?" Dr. Lei said, "Oh Yeah".

I'm so mad, I hate to be a cheapskate, but I feel like getting my $20 from Tuesday. First off the guy said Finn was fine and that he was OK to go to Daycare. And because of idiots like this, Finn probably got RSV from another kid at Daycare.

So now he is on Amoxicillion for the ear infection, steriod to help him breath and 4 times a day, I have to use a Nebulizer on him. And he hates it!

He can't sleep and he can't take good naps because of his aweful cough, so he is just getting more and more tired and misrable.

I know everyone is used to seeing Finn smiling, but tomorrow I'll post some sad pictures of my baby.

Sick Baby

The weekend was lazy, but I guess not lazy enough since Finn and I both got sick. We had to run some errands on Saturday and here is Finn ready to go with his Teddy Bear Sam.

Of course after a few minutes in the car, Finn fell asleep.

While we were visiting Teri and Mark at their new house, Finn decided to break in their "new" carpet by throwing up all over Ben and the carpet. It was everywhere, even a few minutes after the incident, I stuck my hand in Ben's hoodie pocket and it was full of throwup.

Even though baby throwup isn't that bad, Ben was still misrable, so we dropped by my parents to drop off boxed and headed home.

We took Finn's wet clothes off when we got home and he was as happy as ever. He didn't seem sick at all. Or maybe he just loves to be naked.

Sunday Finn's sicky, grumpiness kicked in. We went to my parents to help move for a
few hours and he was misrable. Later that night I got what Finn had and it was not fun.

Monday was a sick day at home with all of us. Ben had to stay home from work to help with Finn since I was sick too. I feel 80% better, but now I think all three of us (including Ben) are getting a cold. Finn is still grumpy and now has a cough. I just got the dreaded call from Daycare asking us to pick him up because he is too sick to stay there.

Gastro What?

Poor Finn has been spitting up a lot all week. It seems like at least half of what he eats, he spits back up. He has only been eating maybe half of what he normally eats and to top it all off, he had diarrhea yesterday. So sad. We took him to the doctor this morning and he has some stomach virus and it should just clear itself up in a few days.

The doctor said not to worry about him not eating very much because he has a good reserve. He weighs just over 15 lbs! He is in the 90th percentile. Cute chubby boy.
