Sunday Dinner

This afternoon the family came over for dinner. We brought the camera out too late and missed Emmie and Finn walking around holding hands.

Our backyard is perfect for fall BBQ's. The sun's location has changed and the entire backyard is shaded in the afternoon. In the dead of summer, our patio was in full sun.


The kids spent most of the evening in the neighbor's backyard playing on their swing set. Finn loves the slide, going up...


And coming down, with McKenzie's help of course.

Fifth Wedding Anniversary

Ben and I were married 5 years ago today in Park City, Utah. Sorry to get cheesy on you all, but I love my husband and I think I'm pretty darn lucky to have him and the two son's he gave me. Two including Oscar, but most importantly he gave me Finn.

I think we make a pretty good pair and I can't wait for the next 5... I mean 50 years.

Word of the Day - Boe

Finn is starting to say certain words. Some sound right and some just don't. I thought I'd try to keep track of some his first words.

I do have a little catching up to do, and I have a feeling this will probably only last a few more weeks before there are too many words to keep track of.

Future Hoarder?

Finn loves opening and closing things. Doors, books, drawers, the hood of his car... but one of Finn's favorite place to play is the closet where Oscar's kennel is. The kennel is just his size and has a perfect swinging door of temptation. We are constantly cleaning up items he pulls off the shelves and have to pull him away from this favorite area several times a day.

Lately however, he has started a new favorite. Opening the door, putting things in the kennel, then closing the door. Anything he can find lying around the house. Usually it's a toy cell phone, his little mirror or a red block. Last night, he must have been have been in a toy bind, and grabbed whatever he could find, being the wrapper of a 12pack of Guaranana and an 80's CD.

At least he has good taste.

Lagoon Day

Saturday the entire (Utah) Selph crew headed to Lagoon. This is the first time ever our family has gone to Lagoon. It was really fun. Not too crazy or stressful considering the size of our group.

Finn was obsessed with the bell on this boat. He would not let go.

JulieAnne and Finn on the Elephant ride. Basically Finn was trying to escape the entire time so it looked like he was going to fall out. Scary. JulieAnne just loves Finn a little too much and won't keep her hands off him. So he started crying halfway through.

After lunch my dad wanted to lay around and listen to the BYU game. So Finn cuddled up next to him and took a 45 minute nap.

Finn was out on the way home. What a long, fun day.

He is not a fan.
Look at his teeth! See the sides? Anyways, that might explain him waking up 6 times a night.

New Plants

I hate the plants that Daybreak put in our front yard. They look like weeds. Finally over the holiday weekend, I tore a bunch out and put in new ones (with Ben's help). Hopefully they really fill in next year and look even better.

These beauties were only about 1/4 of all the plants we planted. My front yard still needs a lot of help, but at least we figured out this small area. The rest can wait until next year!

Obsession of the day

Finn pulled his arm out of his new long sleeved onsie and is now obsessed with it. According to Ben, Finn thinks this is the coolest thing ever. He is already starting trends.
