"There is a whale coming!"

Over the past month or two, Finn has been having some crazy dreams. The problem is, he wakes up crying and doesn't understand that it's just a dream and not reality.

This is great, for Ben and I. We love waking up several times in the middle of the night.

The main re-occuring dream:
"There is a whale coming down from the wall."
This one happens every week or so. Obviously it's a scary whale, and this dream has been going on long before the whole SeaWorld incident. I don't even know where he got this. We haven't really watched anything with a whale in it. In hopes to help him, he now sleeps with Shamu, who is supposed to protect him from the other whales, but it hasn't really helped. We tell him the whale is nice, but he quickly corrects us on that.

Funniest dream:
Finn waking up screaming in the middle of the night because Beckham hit him. Beckham is his older cousin, who has never hit Finn (at least that we know of....).

Random toy dream:
Waking up in the middle of the night crying, "MY MATER!!!" (Mater is the tow truck from Cars, he has 2 toy Maters)
I asked later the next day what exactly happened to Mater, but Finn didn't remember.

Poor Finn! I think dreams must be scary when you don't understand they are dreams.

Awesome!! Waking up in the middle of the night is not so fun--especially with an irrational toddler.
